iSonic
Since 2006 the slalom board made by Starboard. It is known for its ease of use and control. Therefore one of the easiest slalom boards to sail and also the fastest on choppy water/waves.

(machine translated in 2021) origin
In August 2009 2nd hand bought via internet. Board was complete with boardbag and 2 Drake fins, 34 and42cm. I sold the 34 immediately, I already had a newerDrake 34cm. A few weeks earlier, I had myHTS Super Fast MSold. Wanted a board that is wider in the tail or at least runs better height than theHts.

Control and speed
I've sailed the board a few times now. First time with myDaytona 7.3and different fins, perfect combo. I also haveDaytona 8.3on hazards, in low wind it went just, but fully powered this was also delicious. Perhaps theSRA 44cmjust not big enough for little wind with theDaytona 8.3. Next time theSR2 46cmLet's try it.

What strikes me so far is how easy it is to sail the board on all courses. With the wind, ample wind, everything is fast and easy, even when the water gets restless I have no control problems.
One-foot-off:47.4 cm

Gyben
During gyben the board has before but also some after parts. Due to the width, it is easy to plan a gybe, but the bend must be taken a little more spaciously. Minus point I found when gyben in chop: Because of the wide nose, the board sometimes wanted to keep hooking in a wave, which reduced the speed far and I got a full load of salt water in my face. Even when using a gybe, I had to pay more attention than with theHts, due to the width it is more difficult to get out of the foot tires, there is also more pressure on the fin.
With theDaytona 8.3still can't get right.

Sold
I had been looking for an iSonic 111 from 2008 or 2009. These seem to be a little faster than the 2006 and 2007. After I have2008 iSonic 111I bought it, he was bought by a dealer, he had a buyer for it. Not so, the same afternoon the board was on marktplaats.nl for 100 euros more.

sail
I have this iSonic mainly with myDaytonasdangers. Especially the 7.3 is really delicious on this board.
Fins
According to Starboard, this board has a fin range of: 32 - 48cm.
I'm going to sail my Slalom fins under it. I tested with my Drake Slalom Pros, my Hurricane SRA's and Select SL7s. In terms of feeling, the SL7s are the finest, give a lot of control, a lot of speed and hardly any spinouts. The SRA's are fast and not spinouts, but are harder and therefore give less rest and therefore less control in chop.
