origin
Bought from Kater in September 2019, along with my 7.3. Stopped slalom competitions looking for easier sailing sails that I can sail on North masts that I already have.
Low-end and light sailing feeling
The S-Type SL feels wonderfully light and has a lot of low-end. Sail has a deep profile. You can plan while the sail feels like there is hardly any pressure in it. So much less tiring to sail than a Warp. I can plan with the 8.3 if the slalom guys are at 9.4. High-end is not his strong suit. With a Warp 8.4 you can sail for a long time, then you have already beaten the S-Type SL.
It's a lovely freerace sail. Slower than a Warp, but only if the surfer with the Warp sail has trimmed well and can sail well with it.
Masts
Best is a North 490 mast, I have 2 different the 2013 and the 2014 DS. No idea which one works best. First, test well
