Sunny and Gusty
17 to 20 knots predicted. All day wind, so took the afternoon off.
Jeroen went to Kabbelaarsbank, wind seemed not strong enough for wave boards, so joined him and Ronald.
Most surfers were using 5.5 a 6.5.
Used the iSonic 101 with Crossride 6.6. Didn't feel like going for the full slalom.
Started with the SL-X 36cm. Near the shore the wind was not very strong, but further on the lake wind was really strong.
In the strionger wind, the SL-X was on the big side, especially in the chop.
Switched to the Busca 34cm, 2nd time I'm using it, positively surprised: again .
This fin gives a lot of control. Set just felt perfect, huge amount of control, really feel like I could do everything.
Try to stay ahead of everyone. Did a lot of planing jibes.
So enjoyable, all afternoon clear blue skies.
Wind turned a lot and was very gusty. That made surfing certainly not easy.
The 6.6 was a good choice. Could almost always plane and in the hardest gusts just not too big.
It was crowded, certainly near shore with many, often very inexperienced, surfers, so had to pay close attention.
At the end I noticed the footpad of the iSonic 101 coming loose.

Lovely afternoon, wonderfully warm, but tricky wind.
I love the Busca!

Present: Jeroen, Ronald (RonVo)

14:00 0.5 hour Wind: SW
Board: Starboard iSonic 101 - Sonntag SL-X 36cm
Sail: North Crossride 6.6 - North Platinum(11) 460 - AL360 E3 Carbon 180-230
Set worked well, SL-X something a bit bige, especially in the harder gusts I felt that the fin could be a bit smaller.
14:45 2.75 hour Wind: SW
Board: Starboard iSonic 101 - Busca Slalom 34cm
Sail: North Crossride 6.6 - North Platinum(11) 460 - AL360 E3 Carbon 180-230
Set worked very well, with the Busca I really had a lot of control. In the windholes it was more challenging to get upwind, but otherwise really top.
