Nice afternoon Kablaarsbank
Another storm this weekend: Dennis, strongest wind on Sunday. But Saturday also a nice wind predicted, 20-25 knots, again south.
Jurjen was already on the water, 6.7 had become too big and started rigging 5.7, so I've taken a size smaller:

Freewave 102 with Ice 5.3 and MFC OnShore 24cm
Wind was a bit gusty, sometimes just too little to plane, sometimes full power, but mostly good. Water was very flat, even for Kabbelaarsbank. you really had search for small wave to jump. With this south wind direction you can make long legs along the length of Kablaarsbank all the way back to the open water. Especially behind the sandbank and the island it was completely flat. The MFC OnShore is not made for speed. If the board accelerated and I wanted to go upwind it didn't actually work. Sometimes really had to work to get upwind at speed, while going upwind a bit slower work better. Time to adjust the setup.

Quatro Super Mini 103 with Ice 5.3 and MUF 20/14.5cm
I was allowed to borrow jurjen's new Super Mini 103. Very compact waveboard, short and thick, especially in the back. Wasn't comfortable on the board, footstraps for me too far apart, and also just too big. Because of the short fins it is like a skateboard, nice in the waves, but there were hardly any. Because of the short fins you can not put pressure on the back foot and everything has to be over the front foot and on flat water the stance was not relaxed. In the harder gusts it was better. If I could find a wave, you could immediately notice that it could be a nice board. It was hard work to sail with this board due to the not-fine stance. I will try it again in better wind in waves.

Freewave 102 with Ice 5.3 and Makani 26cm
Took a slightly straighter and thinner fin: Makani 26cm. Wind rose, trim had to be over max. Setje worked really wonderfully now. The Makani works a lot better as a freeride vin on the flatter water, runs looser, better height and faster. Wind seemed more constant, might have taken the 84. Enjoy it. Sailed until I was really empty.

Wind wasn't perfect, temperature wasn't cold, but certainly last hour was wonderful sailing.

Kabbelaarsbank

Present: Jurjen

12:30 0.75 hour Wind: S
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 102 Pro - MFC On-Shore 24cm
Sail: North Ice 5.3 - North Platinum 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail trim was not good, sail was not stable, sail was minimally trimmed to be able to plane through the holes. Fin didn't work well on the flatter water, didn't run well at speed. Is clearly better at lower speed and in waves.
13:15 0.5 hour Wind: S
Board: Quatro Super Mini 103/MUFins X-Tri 2x14,5cm
Sail: North Ice 5.3 - North Platinum 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
I was able to test Jurjen's new Super Mini Thruster, fins: MUF 20cm/14.5cm. Jurjen has his footstraps a lot further apart than I like. Also, small center fins, nice in the waves, but this is Kabelaarsbank, and even for Kabbelaarsbank the water was flat. Not really kind of setup that I would use myself on Kabberlaarsbank. But on the few low waves I could quickly feel the potency of the board, turning tight en short, can slide on the spot, all the volume blow your feet.
14:00 1.25 hour Wind: S
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 102 Pro - Makani Kaku 26cm
Sail: North Ice 5.3 - North Platinum 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Wind had increased, so I could trim the sail a little more, which was clearly better. The Makani also works better on flatter water. Fin is thinner and more straight, so works better at higher speed than the OnShore 24cm.
