Great start to the year
Year started well, first days already wind, a lot of south and also a lot of rain. Today finally dry and also SW.
Forecast was 35 to 48 knots, good day to give the Goya Thurster 81 a try. Upon arrival I noticed that there was no white haze above the water. So not really extreme wind, so maybe not even need the 3.7.
Most surfers were sailing with 3.2 to 3.5. Henk went on the water with 4.5 and did not seem to be overpowered.

Banzai 4.2 with Goya Thurster 81 and 18/12cm MFC fins
Get on the board and directly planing. Clearly enough wind. Further out the wind was quite strong, so increased to trim in the sail to max.
There were beautiful waves, sometimes even longer lines, sometimes even 3 to 4 backside hits possible. There were occasional waves to jump, but there are days with better jumping waves. Later the waves became lower, less steep.
This was the first time with the Thruster 81. Board sails easily, especially with less wind easier than the AHD. Wind wasn't extreme enough to know if the board is better in extreme wind than the AHD. Control seems good enough.
Wind increased later and sail had to be over max trim. Fortunately, that was short, so a little less trim in the sail. Very happy with the trim range of the Banzai.
Sailed on until I was completely empty.

It was great: not cold at all, occasional sunshine. Wind was fairly stable, sailed all the time with the 4.2. Unfortunately, the waves were less good later on, but that should not spoil the fun. Great day.

13:00 2.25 hour Wind: SW
Board: Goya Custom Thruster 81 - MFC TF RTM 18cm/MFC TF 2x12cm
Sail: Goya Banzai X Pro 4.2 - Goya Ninety Pro 370 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
First time with the Custom Thruster 81, liked it very much. Sail on max trim. In the hardest wind the fin went upwind well, but if the wind was a little less I had to make a little more effort to get upwind, certainly went, but had to be a little more careful. I had put the center fin fairly in the middle, maybe just behind the middle. Waveriding was good, board doesn't seem to turn super short, but that's not a big deal with so much wind. Because of the wider tail and more volume much easier than the AHD. Tried front site riding a few times, sometimes worked. Sail the right size, never really too big, almost never stood still.
