Cold start of the Season
We had a new years drink with friends at Kabbelaarsbank, I had taken the windsurf gear.
Wasn't a lot of wind predicted, but if you have your gear with you, you just have to try. With 7 degrees it was on the cold side.
It would have been best to take the 9.0, bit did not feel like taking the 9.0. So took the 8.0 on the 85cm wide.

ISonic 127 with Warp 8.0 and Boss 44cm
Wind was not very strong, so outhaul completely loose. Could not get upwind very well, getting up wind in minimal ocnditions is not the strong point of Boss fins.
With this direction you sail along the harbour, so completely flat water.
A bit further from the shore clearly more wind. So I stayed farther from the shore than the couple other on the water. I clearly had better wind.
In the harder gusts the Boss ran freely, I could get upwind a bit, but between the gusts it was minimal. So went to shore to get a fin with more lift,

ISonic 127 with Warp 8.0 and Sonntag 46cm
With the Sonntag it was clearly better. Board was more loose, got upwind better. It was really nice, until the wind started to drop off.
Eventually slugged to shore: wind gone.

With 7 degrees It was cold, but the sun made it nice. Didn't have to wear the cap and gloves all the time.
Nice start of a new season.

14:00 0.5 hour Wind: NW
Board: Starboard iSonic 127 - Boss 4.32 S- 44cm
Sail: North Warp F2010 8.0 - North Platinum(13) 490cm - HPL Carbon Race 200-285
Set was very fast, the Boss 44cm works very well for this set, especially downwind. However the wind was not constant, and getting upwind wind the wind was lighter was tricky.
14:30 2 hour Wind: NW
Board: Starboard iSonic 127 - Sonntag SL-P 46cm
Sail: North Warp F2010 8.0 - North Platinum(13) 490cm - HPL Carbon Race 200-285
Set works really well, the SLP 46cm has enough lift to let the set run loose, also upwind went well in less wind. Board only rails a little bit less well, compared with the Boss.
