Gusty afternoon
Wind forecast, unfortunately south east. But dry, and agenda was free. Let's go surfing.

Banzai 6.0 on the JP FSW 102.
First time with the Select Freecarve 31, later switched to the MFC Freewave 32cm.
Sail on minimum trim. Wind direction shifted between SSE and ESE. Also very gusty. In the wind holes I could not get planing.
In the strongest gusts I was sometimes a bit overpowered, sometimes had to push with my mast hand.
Short runs between the harbour and the surf centre. In the harder gusts nice planing jibes. Towards the surf center regularly steep chop to jump. Jumping with the foot straps in the outboard position is getting better and better.
The Select 31cm sails and jumps very nicely. Really feels like the perfect fin for this board and sail, but upwind is not so good in the lighter wind. The MFC clearly has more lift: planes more easily and goes better upwind. Very curious how the Select 31cm sails with a little more wind.
After 2 hours of sailing, the battery was empty.

It was gusty, that was to be expected. With 12 degrees it was not that warm anymore, unfortunately the sun disappeared after an hour.
Set worked well for today. Nice sailing.

12:30 1 hour Wind: SE
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 102 Pro - Select FX Freecarve 31cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
First time with the Select FX Freecarve 31cm. Sail on minimum trim. The 31cm feels very good for this board. Didn't have to stand outside of the foot straps to compensate for the lift. No spinouts. Jumps nice. With sail on minimum trim, the set does not go upwind very well.
13:30 0.5 hour Wind: SE
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 102 Pro - MFC Freewave 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail on minimum trim. The MFC 32cm is better upwind than the Select 31cm. The MFC really feels a lot bigger. Back foot often half in the footstrap. Also seems to plane a little earlier. Especially the better upwind ability stood out. Lot of good planing jibes.
