Another day of gusty winds
Prediction was WNW, perfect for the Grevelingendam, unfortunately some showers.
On the way there was a heavy shower and on arrival the wind was almost completely gone.

Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with Freewave 32
In the bay I expected less wind, but had a gust and was planing. Set was quickly good. Made a lot of long runs. Planing jibes were always very easy, especially over the left, but on the other side, to the right, it somehow went less well. The chop was often difficult, the MFC 32cm was larger than necessary, smaller should give more control. The Patrik 32cm is the same length, but has a lot less surface area.

Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with Patrik 32
The Patrik 32cm feels better with a lot of power in the 6.0, faster, more control in the board and still runs very well upwind. I think I could also sail with a smaller fin.

And then suddenly, Frank was there. I hadn't seen him for 15 years, he hadn't changed. Very nice to have sailed together again for a short time. Not changed on the water either. Full of energy and fun: contagious!

I had rigged the Banzai 4.7 on the One 95, but ended up not using it. wind dropped with the rain showers.
Because of the rain showers, the wind changed a lot, often WSW, which is just not nice on the Grevelingendam. And because of the showers, the wind was also gusty. Later it got better for a while, but it was not the best conditions. In the stronger wind I could easily have sailed with 5.3 and maybe even 4.7, but because the wind was so gusty and the direction was often WSW, I didn't want to sail too small.

Grevelingendam

Present: Frank, Jurjen

12:15 1.5 hour Wind: W
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - MFC Freewave 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 170-230
Range of the Banzai was great again: wind was very gusty. Especially in the beginning, a lot of showers. Usually the 6.0 was on the large side. Control very well when the wind was less strong. In the stronger wind: the MFC 32cm was actually too big. In the lighter wind, the 32cm was large enough to get upwind. In the more difficult chop, one size too big.
14:15 2 hour Wind: W
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Patrik P-Style 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 170-230
With the Patrik 32cm fin a little more speed and control, it has a little less lift than the MFC 32cm. Still sail at max trim and often still fully powered. Planing jibes often easily because of the amount of pressure in the sail. Especially when the wind was stronger for a while, the chop became a bit chaotic, more difficult to sail.
