Lightwind testing
Wind predicted for th entire day: 14-18 knots. In the morning, there was already 20-24 knots. So quicky to the sea.
On arrival the wind had just died 10 minutes earlier.
Slowly the wind came back, so started rigging 9.0. If the winds come back all the way, I would not might rigging something smaller.

iSonic 127 with Warp 9.0 and Z-Fins 46cm S-
Too little wind, not even enough to try to pump. So back to shore grab my biggest fin.

iSonic 127 with Warp 9.0 and Select 50cm
Failed to get planing, little less trim in the sail, upper outhaul eye. Still cannot get planning.
There was somebody already planing: a JP SuperLightwind with V8 10.5, that is a lot bigger.
Wind slowly increased, some light boys also started to plane, but whatever I tried, didn't come in plane.
When half of the surfers was already planing, I finally got my set to plane.
Once planing the fin gave a lot of lift, perhaps too big? Time to try something else.

iSonic 127 with Warp 9.0 and SL-P 48cm
What a difference: stept on the board, pumped and was planing, and wind did not seem that strong.
Then I always got planing easily. Fin is a bit big in the stronger wind, but in the wind holes I could always pump to get planing.

iSonic 127 with Warp 9.0 and Boss 49cm
Before I just stopped tested the Boss 49cm, good chance to compare my other big fins.
Unfortunately, the wind had increased even further. So I had to give sail more trim and the comparison with the SL-P 48 could no longer be made.
But still nice sailing.

There was someone on the water with a Naish Hover with Foil and Naish Lift 6.4, which should fly very early. Or he couldn't cope with it, or you still need wind. I planned just as fast.

What a contrast, last time with 3.7 overpower, now with 9.0 pumping to get planing.
Useful educational afternoon. In hindsight not the best choice to go this early, late afternoon would have been better.

12:30 0.25 hour Wind: W/SW 7/9 kts
Board: Starboard iSonic 127 - Z-Fins SL S-- 46cm
Sail: North Warp F2015 LW 9.0 - North Platinum(14) 490 - HPL Carbon Race 200-285
Did not take the Severne boom with me, so had to take the HPL.
Too little wind to get plaing, not even enough to make an effort to pump.

Wind slowly increased, but was not able to get the board plaing. Tried a lot, but could not get onto a plane. Almost nobody else was planing, but I had the feeling the some of the gusts were strong enough. Only after the wind has increased even more, I could get planing. When planing, de vin was too big.

Okay, with the SL-P I can pump the iSonic much easier onto a plane. Wind was still similar, even in the softer gusts I could get planing with a couple of good pumps. Where the SL-P with some more wind is a bit too big, it is pefect for minimal wind: nice.
15:00 0.5 hour Wind: W/SW 9/15 kts
Board: Starboard iSonic 127 - Boss 6.0 S- 49cm
Sail: North Warp F2015 LW 9.0 - North Platinum(14) 490 - HPL Carbon Race 200-285

Wind had increased, so had to pull more trim in the sail. Planed all the time.
Fin now bit big, lots of lift, board somewhat less stable on the water. Because of the more wind not useful to compare with the SL-P 48.
