Few hours slalom
Wind again too much south for the good.
Started with: iSonic 117, S-Type SL 7.3 and SL-X 43cm.
In the beginning sometimes only just planing. Certainly close to the shore very tricky chop, but with the SL-X makes board fly nicely over the chop.
Wind slowly increased, some gusts very hard. More downhaul and sail could handle it.
The pressure on the fin was sometimes a bit big, not that the board really got a tail-walk, but rather a lot of pressure on my legs.
Time for a smaller fin..
iSonic 117 with S-Type SL 7.3 and SL-P 40cm
Clearly less pressure on the legs, even easier sailing. Only downwind makes the board feel less stable than with the SL-X.
Wind increased so much that the 7.3 really got too big. Time to smaller stuff.
Difference with the 6.6 seemed to me too small, so the rigged the FSW 102 with Duke 5.9.
Unfortunately, wind dropped a lot while rigging.
Tried anyway, but the hard wind did not come back.

Sailed with the 7.3 until a rain came. Tried to get everything deriggered in time, unfortunately, too late, everything soaking wet.

Wind was gusty, but the range of S-Type SL, certainly along with a Power XT is great.
Nice sailing, but not really a great day.

10:45 1.5 hour Wind: S 14/20 kts
Board: Starboard iSonic 117 - Sonntag SL-X 43cm
Sail: North S-Type SL 7.3 - North Platinum(13) 460 - HPL Carbon Race 200-285
Set works very well, control, quick and easy to get planing. No spinouts, not even in the sometimes tricky chop. Fin gave a bit too much lift in the harder gusts, still control, but could be smaller.
12:15 0.5 hour Wind: S 14/21 kts
Board: Starboard iSonic 117 - Sonntag SL-P 40cm
Sail: North S-Type SL 7.3 - North Platinum(13) 460 - HPL Carbon Race 200-285
With the 40cm SL-P The set gave more control, less heavy on the legs. Getting upwing was a little less, but in the hard wind certainly not bad. The board was slightly less stable over chop downwind than the SL-X. Sail feels light.
13:00 0.25 hour Wind: S 12/18 kts
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 102 Pro - MFC Freewave 29cm
Sail: North Duke 5.9 - North Platinum 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
First time with the Duke 5.9 2008. Unfortunately the wind was gone when I finished rigging. So was not able to plane.
13:15 0.5 hour Wind: S 14/19 kts
Board: Starboard iSonic 117 - Sonntag SL-P 40cm
Sail: North S-Type SL 7.3 - North Platinum(13) 460 - HPL Carbon Race 200-285
Even without very strong winds, the 40cm worked quite well. No spinouts. Upwind is somewhat less. Deep profile of the sail and slightly less trim ensure very early planing.
