Super day, unfortunately a lot of rain
Today's southwest wind predicted, best direction and also slightly more than Tuesday.
JP FSW 84 with Banzai 4.2 and MFC 19 /Makani 10cm fins
Most surfers were already on the water with 3.5 to 4.5. So choice was easy: 4.2. Good time to test the MFC 19cm for what I bought it for: FSW 84 with 4.2. At first the wind was still a bit too south, but it turned west in the course of the afternoon. At first not many waves, but when the tide came up the waves also increased. I could always jump both ways.
It was really enjoyable. Especially when the wind was really southwest and so the waves got better. A lot of wave riding, jumping, jibes also often went well and planed through most of them. Really great. Wind was a little gusty. Sometimes on my toes, sometimes with the sail open in the hardest gusts, but never overpowered. Occasionally adjust the trim. At the end I had the 4.2 over max trimmed, but sailed really well.
Sailed until I was completely empty.
Lovely day, wind was gusty, but definitely good to sail. Nice waves, jumping over both sides possible, golf riding possible. Unfortunately almost all day rain.
Extra bonus: Witnessed the release of two junior seals at the Gorsje. The two of them swam a while, side by side watching the surfers.

Set worked very, very good. The MFC 19cm works perfectly in combination with the 4.2. Always enough grip, still get upwind easily enough, but not too much. Wave riding good. Even did a couple of front-side wave rides. |
