Strong wind, and chilly
Good WNW predicted, some showers in the morning, later less rain.
Upon arrival, the wind seemed to be stronger than predicted. I expected 4.7, but this could be 4.2 or even smaller. I even saw haze above the water, but there was no 40 knots predicted, so I took the 4.2 anyway.

Banzai 4.2 on the Grip 93 with MFC 20/10cm thrusters
Started with the rear fin far back, and the front one just in front of the middle. In the bay already strong winds, a few downwind runs and jibes to take the last gate to the open water. Wind was more NW, then the waves are often not completely parallel to the sailing direction and it is very good to jump back towards the shore. Highest waves were up to almost a meter high. Wave riding was not easy because of the direction, back-side hardly achievable and the waves not clear enough for front-side. But still fun. Especially a lot of jumping, sometimes quite high. Ingmar was there too, he was clearly practicing Slalom-X, I saw him fly a lot, even once almost over me when I was in the water. Back to shore, often sailing into the bay and then jibing in the flat water.
I just replaced my slotbox screws with allen bolts, so I can adjust them with a batten-tool: super handy. Tried it a few times in the shallow of the Grevelingen, works perfectly.
Wind seemed to subside, less trim in the sail, sometimes some bobbing: time to stop. During derigging, the wind clearly increased again.

Nice afternoon: Wind was stronger than expected.
It was only 9 degrees and with so much wind: quite chilly. I didn't wear mittens, and sometimes that was only just possible.

  Banzai: good control. Range of the Banzai was again very useful: from over max to minimum. Used everything. Grip 93 worked well with the 4.2. Board never really felt too big, good control, jumps nicely and good with waveriding. Only with jumping, a small board might be nice. Experimented a bit with the fins position. The allen bolts in the board and therefore don't necessarily have to go to the car for a screwdriver. Fins far apart seems to work better for me: goes upwind better. Close together was pretty good when it was really windy.
