Lovely sunny chilly session
First sleep in and see what the weather will do, a lot of wind and rain was predicted.
Fortunately, it turned out to be sunny and the wind was even WNW, perfect for the Grevelingendam.
Jurjen and Menno were sailing with 6.8 slalom. John Munten with 5.6 wave. Looking at the water I would think I should be able sail with 5.3.
According to Jurjen there were no waves, so I took the F-Cross with the 6.0 instead.

Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with MFC 32cm
Planing right away in the bay. Outside of the bay, there are even waves and a small jump... No waves, my ass. Made a couple of long runs. A lot of pressure in my sail. Way too much pressure on my back foot. The MFC 32cm was clearly too big. And didn't feel very fast either. So to the shore to adjust trim and grab other fin.

Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with Patrik 32cm
The Patrik is narrower and therefore usually a bit faster. Sail 2 taps more downhaul and tad more outhaul. The rest of the day did not change anything, most of the time the wind was a bit strong for the 6.0. But that made it nice for long fast runs with Jurjen, Menno and the others. In the flatter water, I couldn't keep up with the slalom sails. But in the chop I was usually just as fast. A lot of planed jibes, that goes so well with this set, and with that I could often make up for a lot of lost ground . Especially on the way back to the shore, the higher chop often allowed for nice jumping. Wind was slowly getting worse, I was getting tired: time to stop.

Sailed with sunglasses for the first time. Polarizing lenses were perfect with the low sun, and its reflection, right in your face!
Top session, lovely sunny, good wind. Yes chilly, it's November! Maybe the One 95 with 5.3 would have been nice too, but now I could try to keep up with friends.

Grevelingendam

Present: Jurjen, Menno (flappie)

13:00 0.25 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - MFC Freewave 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail at max trim. Control good, upwind too easy: too much pressure on my back foot, the MFC 32 has too much surface area for these conditions. Speed seemed ok, but could definitely be better.
13:15 2 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Patrik P-Style 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Downhaul just over max trim. With the Patrik 32cm the set is clearly faster, fin feels good. speed better, could get upwind well enough. Control good.
