Nice slalom session
Finally a SW wind predicted, unfortunately the wind was disappointing, the forecast was still 20 to 30 knots on Sunday, it was 15 to 18 knots.
At sea, 1 person was surfen, and he was not planing with 6.3. So I went to Kabbelaarsbank to sail with big equipment.
S-Type 7.3 on the iSonic 117 with Sonntag 43cm
Get on and plane immediately. On the other side of the lake the wind was gone, bobbing back the hole run back to the launch area. Was 7.3 too small? No, everyone stood still, including the foilers.
Fortunately, the wind came back quickly and I hardly was not planing after that. Yes, sometimes be careful not to plan to far to the other side of the lake where there was less wind. Water often completely flat. Only when the wind was strong for a longer period of time did the waves increase slightly. Lots of long runs, lots of planing jibes. I could easily get upwind with the 43cm. After 2 hours of almost continuous sailing I was done, I was getting tired.
Unfortunately it was completely overcast, but fortunately no rain and we sailed well with the 7.3.

Set worked well, in the hard gusts the 43cm was a bit large, but never really too big. In the wind holes, the 43cm was very nice to help getting planing. Range of the sail was lovely. Planing jibes almost always went well, even if I didn't even do everything perfectly myself. |
