Finally surfing again
Very late start of the season. Unfortunately a long time no wind, or just too cold.
The plan was actually to go to Brouwersdam South, but with WNW and even spring tide, not really a nice spot. I wanted to be there 2 hours before high tide. I left home a little too late. On the way I passed the Grevelingendam: good wind direction and lots of foam heads! I'm not going to drive to the sea.
Hesitated between 5.3 and 6.0. Water looked like 5.3 should be possible. There were all sizes of sails on the shore, from 4.5 to 7.5. In the end I opted for 6.0 because it seemed that the wind on the coast was dropping.

Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 and MFC 32cm
Get on and plane in the bay. On the open water the wind was even stronger. 2 times increased the trim of the sail: over max trim. After that it was good. I could always plane. Lovely long runs. Especially back towards the shore a lot of jumping: many nice waves. I was still tired of renovating at home the past few days, so was out of energy quickly. I could easily have sailed with the 5.3.

Great to finally be surfing again. In retrospect, the Grevelingendam was the best choice. Somehow there was less wind at the sea.
Clear blue sky, lovely sunshine. Not really cold, not needed my mittens.

Grevelingendam

11:45 1.75 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - MFC Freewave 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 170-230
Sail over max trim. Control and speed good. Fin could have been a bit smaller, but more work like this, but could therefore get upwind really wel.
Planing jibes often went well. Control and speed good. Quite a lot of jumping: starting to get used to the width of the 113.
