Heavy summer storm
Bad weather predicted for Monday: heavy storm with heavy showers. I was able to clear my agenda, but I didn't feel like showers. In the morning it turned out to be dry and even blue skys. Wind expected up to 42 knots. So a chance for a nice day. First time sailing since June, finally: disadvantage of doing some home improvements.

Banzai 3.7 with Custom Thruster 81 and K4 Scorcher 20/10cm.
Pfff, wind was very strong, in the beginning really no control. More downhaul, more outhaul, boom slightly lower: that made it a lot better.
Especially when the wind was a bit less, it went very well. Lots of fun waves for backside wave riding, often multiple hits. Jibing was only possible if I had a moment with less strong wind in a stretch with fewer waves. Footstraps were still in the winter shoe position: too big. Made them smaller and then the set was as good as it gets with this kind of wind.
I actually wanted to take the AHD Wave 253, but the Dakine foot straps were completely gone. So no chance to compare the boards.
Sailed until I was really empty and arms hurt.

Wind was on the edge, it was just possible to sail in. Sometimes just too much, half the time fun sailing.
It was clear blue sky almost all the time, not cold at all. And with 8 surfers, also very quiet.

First time really full-power with the Scorcher fins. Wind very very strong.
The Scorchers seem to work very well for this wind. I do think that the 20cm could be smaller in terms of getting upwind, no spinouts at all, and good control.
I was able to have the Custom 81 plane fairly slowly if needed.
Jibing was often impossible: wind too strong. Also little jumping, too much wind for that too. I did some ride back-side riding when the wind was less strong.
