Short winter slalom session
Southwest 16 to 24 knots wind predicted and until sometime in the afternoon dry, unfortunately the wind appeared to stay south again, even just SSE.
A lot of different sails on the water 5.5 to 8.3 sails. Wind seemed gusty. Doubted between 6.0, 6.6 and 7.3. Choose the 7.3. Did not feel like bobbing around, and there were showers on the way. So I'd rather do a short but good session then float a round a lot.

iSonic 117 with S-Type SL 7.3 and SL-X 41cm
Getting out was not each, full on-shore wind, so needed to get upwind before having the space the get planing.
Sail turned out to be very big in the gusts. So adjusted the trim to a bit over max, that helped. Only close to the Brouwersdam the wind was gusty. In the channel and close to Hompelvoet it was much more constant and better sailing. So sailed most of the time there. In the channel, and especially in front of the cottage park, as often, the water was chaotic, waves coming from 2 sides, very difficult and heavy to sail through. Jibes usually went well, not always plaining, sometimes too little wind, or in the waves not possible at all.
Sailed until I was pretty empty and it was still short while before the showers would come.

Quick de-rigged and went home: was able to pack everything reasonably dry.
It was, good, but it was heavy.

11:45 1.5 hour Wind: S
Board: Starboard iSonic 117 - Sonntag SL-X 41cm
Sail: North S-Type SL 7.3 - North Platinum(13) 460 - AL360 E3 Carbon 200-260
Set worked pretty good, 7.3 was a bit too big in the strongest gusts, trimmed just a bit over max. and sometimes still hard work in the gusts. Especially in chaos chop/waves in the channel it was heavy sailing and had to work hard. Speed seemed very good. The SL-X 41cm was certainly a bit big in the gusts and should definitely be smaller for more control.
