Disappointing winds
Finally warmer weather, finally SW wind predicted. Closer to the weekend the forecast even improved.
On arrival it was already 11 degrees. Fortunately, wind had increased again, apparently everyone had been standing still: sails used: 5.0 - 7.0.

Banzai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with FX Freecarve 31cm
First time with the F-Cross 113. Banzai on medium trim and upper eye, boom slightly lower.
In the beginning it was a bit difficult to get planing. Once planing, the board never seems to stop. The 31cm is too small for so little wind. I could only get upwind with a bit of effort. A larger fin would have made it a lot easier.
Unfortunately, the wind was usually minimal, so planing jibes were not really possible. Jumping takes some getting used to, footstraps are further apart than on the FSW 102. But in the end it was quite fun to jump with it.
After an hour decreased the trim in the 6.0 to below minimum, that helped with getting planing. Shortly after, the wind finally came through. Soon the sail was on max trim and bottom outhaul eye.
In the strong wind, the 31cm was perfect. Unfortunately it didn't take long, on a long run with Jurjen and Menno the wind quickly subsided. Jurjen and Menno stopped planing. I got a few hundred meters further. Almost the entire way back could not get planing anymore. Eventually could use a wave to get planing again. Just before the beach a nice wave, high jump, but no pressure in my sail so a hard landing. I was done, hopefully another day tomorrow. Time to stop.
Nice to sail again, certainly not cold. Unfortunately, the wind, especially for this direction, was not really good.
The first time with the F-Cross went well. Board feels very good, nice stance. It feels a bit like the Goya Bolt, a bit more playful and less fast. Being able to test the range well: not convinced about it early planing yet, but that could also have been due to the fin.

13:00 2 hour Wind: W/SW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Select FX Freecarve 31cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
First time with the F-Cross 113. Wind was minimal in the beginning for the 6.0 and the Freecarve 31cm. I needed a gust to get planing. Once planing, the board continues to plane for a very long time. Wind in the beginning also too minimal for planing jibes. With the sail under minimum trim, I could plane more easily. Later the wind increased and the set worked really well: quick, control. Even in the higher waves it is still very easy to sail. Waveriding didn't really work (yet), board has a quite wide tail. For minimal wind, a larger fin would have been better. If the wind strong enough, the 31cm is certainly a good option. With more wind, it was also easy to plane. Tried a few jumps. Went pretty well for a board where the foot straps are so wide. With a little practice, that will probably be a bit better. The stance on the board is very easy, very natural. First impression: good!
