Wonderfully warm and strong wind
Forecast max 36 knots SW and rain only in the evening.
Everyone was sailing with 3.5 to 4.2. Wind will decrease a bit later, so started the 4.2 with max trim.

Banzai 4.2 with JP Slate 96 with 15/10cm quad setup
Lots of wind, so it's a good time to test the Slate as a quad again, this time with my new MFC rear fins. Already behind the dam enough wind to plane, further out, sometimes really strong. With more trim in the sail, the wind was never really too strong. I could find quite a lot of waves for some back-side waveriding. Slowly the tide came in and the waves became higher, even really big. Especially in front of het Gorsje were nice large waves, some up to 1.5 meters high. Really quite a way down when waveriding. Made a few attempts for front-side wave riding, slowly went better, just didn't always find a lip. Wind got really strong, 4.2 over max trim. Time for smaller board.

Banzai 4.2 with Goya Custom Thruster 81 with 19/11 thruster fins
Wrong time to take the 81 liters, wind just had dropped, could only plane on my toes. Sail on medium trim, that helped slightly, but wind only seemed to subside. The 81 does feel a lot more lively and agile.

Banzai 4.2 with JP Slate 96 with 15/10cm quad setup
Back on the Slate, the wind also slowly returned. Wind wasn't as strong as before, but sail really had to be on max trim again. High tide over: waves got better: multiple back-side hits possible. Front-side also became easy. Sometimes really nice steep waves. Only with back-side hits not yet completely convinced of the Wave Slate, because of the width of the tail you really have to do your best to get the board back on the other rails to go well off the wave. Not that I fall in, but I know that with another boards it can be better/easy. At the end, near the harbor dam I could even do a double front side hit. First time ever: Nice!

Great day, wonderfully sailing with the Wave Slate. Impressed with the control. Unfortunately, took the Goya 81 at the wrong time. I should have done that earlier.
Especially in the beginning it was really lovely, clear blue sky.

13:15 1 hour Wind: SW
Board: JP Wave Slate 96 Pro - MFC QS 300/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai X Pro 4.2 - Goya Ninety Pro 370 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
Quad setup. First time with the MFC QS 300 rear fins: slightly smaller than the original JP fins. Set worked very well. Fins didn't feel too big, even in the strongest gusts. Wind was gusty, but the range of the Banzai was good, never really overpowered, hardly not able to plane. Wave riding very well. Didn't really try to jump. Control very well.
14:30 0.5 hour Wind: SW
Board: Goya Custom Thruster 81 - MFC TF RTM 19cm/MFC TF 2x11cm
Sail: Goya Banzai X Pro 4.2 - Goya Ninety Pro 370 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
Unfortunately, the wind just dropped when I took the 81. Less trim in the sail and I could often just plane. Could get upwind well enough. Board does feel a lot more agile than the Slate 96.
15:00 2 hour Wind: SW
Board: JP Wave Slate 96 Pro - MFC QS 300/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai X Pro 4.2 - Goya Ninety Pro 370 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
Quad setup. Wind was back, but slightly less extreme, a little less trim in the sail. A little easier sailing. More waveriding, more front side attempts. Getting better at it, being able to hit a steep section a few times. Once, on a wave along the harbor wall even 2x a front side hits.
