Warm start of 2018
First session of 2018, warmest 24 January ever: 13 degrees in Zeeland: delicious.
There was nobody on the sea-side of Brouwersdam, it is of course still a Wednesday in January.

Wind was less than I expected. Prediction was really 35+ kts, but the wind was already less in the morning then predicted
Took the Ice 4.7 with the JP FSW 84. Started 22,5 cm center fin and 8 cm thrusters, it's Kabbelaarsbank, so really you can't expect waves.
The 4.7 was on the large side, trimmed beyond max, it was good for this wind.
Little jumping on the waves. Stayed almost only in the shallow water.

Later removed the thrusters and took the MFC 24 cm Onshore. That combo was clearly faster and looser. On the flat water definitely more enjoyable. Plaining jibes are also clearly easier, the board has more speed and keeps the speed better.

2018 season has begun!
There was something like 20 man on the water.
It was nice and warm, drawback: water feels a lot colder.
Water pretty flat, so there was not much to play with the waves.

Kabbelaarsbank

12:00 0.75 hour Wind: S/SW 25/35 kts
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 84 Pro - MFC Freewave 22,5cm/Makani Walu 2x8cm
Sail: North Ice 4.7 - North Gold(b) 400cm - Aeron V-Grip 160-210
Sail was on a bit to large, had to trim over maximum to be able the handle the hardest gusts. Fins worked really well, good upwind, good grip. Switching to single-fin for some testing.
12:45 1.5 hour Wind: S/SW 25/37 kts
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 84 Pro - MFC On-Shore 24cm
Sail: North Ice 4.7 - North Gold(b) 400cm - Aeron V-Grip 160-210
Sail was really too big, would have been better to switch to the 3.7, especially in the gusts. Single fin ran faster and more fun on flat water than with the Thrusters. Especially with jibes, planing out of the jibe is easier because off more speed.
Board had good control, jumping was fun.
