Day of tricky chop
On arrival very busy on the dam, end of ascension weekend. Many friends on the beach.
Wind wasn't quite there yet, but it should increase.
Started with 5.3 on the F-Cross 113, 5.3 should be big enough, but if the wind was disappointing a little more volume is nice.

Banzai 5.3 on the F-Cross 113 and MFC 32cm
Sluging near the beach, then wind and planing. High tide, no real waves, but chop that was fairly perpendicular to the sailing direction. With the F-Cross I could usually sail over it. I was soon way too far upwind and had to go back downwind to get back to the beach. The 32cm is perhaps a bit big.

Banzai 5.3 on the F-Cross 113 and Select 31cm
Fin is stiffer, so you feel the chop more hars, and the chop was more difficult. Nice and long runs. 1x made the mistake of sailing too close to the beach on the other side. Close to the dunes, so less wind. I had to float back up wind for a long time before I could get planing again.

Banzai 5.3 on the F-Cross 113 and MFC 29cm
Board clearly calmer, but also didn't really run loose, so less nice loose over the chop.
Sailed until I was empty.

Finally warmer weather, sailed with the 3/2 wetsuit. Quite nice sailing, despite the somewhat gusty wind and very difficult chop.

14:00 0.75 hour Wind: N
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - MFC Freewave 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail on medium trim, upper outhaul eye. Set worked well. Water choppy, but not too tricky. Set ran nice and loose and fast. Fin got upwind too easily, I often had to sail consciously downwind.
14:45 1 hour Wind: N
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Select FX Freecarve 31cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail on medium trim, upper outhaul eye. The Select Freecarve is clearly stiffer than the MFC Freewave: knees need to work harder. You can clearly feel chop better. Even though the Freecarve is slightly smaller than the Freewave, it goes upwind too easily.
15:45 0.75 hour Wind: N
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - MFC Freewave 29cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail on medium trim, upper outhaul eye. The Freewave 29 is clearly smaller: board didn't really run free, but it didn't go upwind too easily. It was high tide, chop was getting trickier.
