Nice weather, but gusty
Wind was predicted to be south, not my favorite direction, often the wind doesn't come through at all. Fortunately, it turned out to be windy in the morning and it would also be fairly sunny. South is always gusty, but hadn't sailed for a long time.

Stepped on the board and directly planing, but minimally, so a little less downhaul. Could walk upwind easily, especially when I was planing, but had to do 8 upwind rakes to get past the surf center. There it was less busy with surfers and the wind was better. Wind still very gusty. Really holes where wind was very far gone. Gusts were nice, sometimes really long runs. Later, the wind picked up a bit, which allowed me to plane more and also do a little more downhaul in the sail. Board went faster and faster, especially when I went downwind. I really had to get used to the speed again. With more wind, I was finally able to do planing jibe again. Sailed on until I was fairly tired.

Wind was gusty, but weather was still nice and warm. Was nice to surf after a long time.

For the first time in almost 2 years on my slalom board. We had parked at one of the worst location with this wind direction, so we had to upwind a lot to have some space to sail. So I took the 43cm, also handy for early planing. Sail at minimum trim, finished with medium trim. Wind was very gusty. 8.3 would probably have helped a little, but in the wind holes everyone really stood still. Last hour of wind a little stronger and more stable: much nicer sailing. De 7.3 on minimum trim with the 43cm was easy to get planing early. and also get upwind well. No spinouts. In de stronger gusts, more work to keep the board on the water, but de 43cm was never too big.
