Cold tail of storm Benjamin
Today WNW wind predicted, perfect for the Grevelingendam.
Jeroen was there too, he was winging.
We parked the car at the restaurant, out of the wind, less cold.
Banzai 4.7 on the Goya One 95 with White Water 21cm/11cm thruster
When you start at the restaurant, the first bit is almost always bobbing, today too. Once planing: straight line to the other side. Water was very flat. The White Water is made for wave riding and a little less good at straight lines, so switched to a different fins set.
Banzai 4.7 on the Goya One 95 with MFC 25/8cm
Set was perfect for these conditions, nice and fast, good control and went upwind very well. Often planing jibes. Very occasionally a wave for a small jump.
Unfortunately I didn't have my winter shoes with me and I got really cold feet.
It was clearly colder than Friday. On Friday with the 4/3 mm it was fine, today with the 5/3mm wetsuit and still cold feet, at the end really hardly any feeling anymore. Unfortunately, mittens and headband were not in the trailer: poorly prepared.
Grevelingendam
Present: Jeroen| 12:15 | 0.25 hour | Wind: W/NW |
|---|---|---|
| Board: | Goya One 3 Pro 95 - White Water Wave League 8.0/MFC TF 2x11cm | |
| Sail: | Goya Banzai Pro 4.7 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220 | |
| I had hoped for some nice waves on the Grevelingen, unfortunately that was disappointing, so then a larger center fin with smaller thrusters is more fun. Set worked well. |

| 4.7 was the right size, wind was quite stable, 4.7 on medium to max trim. With the 25cm and 8cm thrusters I could always sail cross wind and go upwind very well in the stronger wind. Water was pretty flat and with the 25cm the board really ran like a freeride board. Fast and loose. Nice long runs and planing jibes. | ||
