Great day Brouwersdam south
Strong northern wind predicted throughout the day, good direction for Brouwersdam south.
It was busy on the south beach, all the familiar faces were there.
Everyone was using 3.7 to 4.5. So rigged the 4.2, starts to become a habit.

JP FSW 84 with Banzai 4.2 and Select 21cm/Makani 8cm
It was almost high tide, so tricky shore-break, started a bit downwind, timing it correctly and get out quickly, managed to get through the shore-break without falling. A reason not to go back to the beach very often. So sailed almost 1.5 hours before I went in to have a drink. With the tide going out, the shore-break also became less intense, but it remained something to be carefull with.
On the water it was as usual with north wind on Brouwersdam south: a lot of moving water, high swell, but few steep waves, and certainly no long lines.
At least first 2 hours the waves were tricky. You couldn't point to anything, you saw a steep wave a little further away, then it was gone before you got there. And they also arose right in front of you, were you ready, you could jump or wave ride. Right foot in front is my direction, so a lot of nice high jumps. Also over the other side you could jump, when coming in. With the tide dropping, the waves got better and there was also a bit more wave riding. Especially in front of the beach of Renesse some slightly longer waves and was a bit better back-side wave riding. Sailed until I was really completely empty.

It was really a great day, wind was relatively stable. never too strong, never not planing for long. Lots of jumping.
No sunshine, but also no rain.
Experience level difference today was big on the water, people who were at sea for the 2nd time, but also guys who were doing forwards.

13:00 3.25 hour Wind: N 25/35 kts
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 84 Pro - MFC Freewave (06) 21cm/Makani Walu 2x8cm
Sail: Goya Banzai X Pro 4.2 - Goya Ninety Pro 370 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
Set worked very well. There where only few waves to really waveride. Was very bump-n-jump. The Banzai 4.2 was the perfect size today. Adjusted the trim after 1 run, and no further changes needed. With the Makani 8cm instead of the 10cm, the board runs slightly less upwind, but still very easy to get upwind. Had to sail at times really deliberately downwind. Jumping often went great, waveriding, only back-side was sometimes possible, but due to the short lines only a single hit.
