Lovely afternoon/evening session
Forecast: all day 20 to 22 knots of wind, turning SSW to WZW.
It was busy, very busy, especially for a Friday.
On arrival wind still a bit too south for the good.

Goya One Pro 95 with Banzai 4.7 with 21/11 thruster set
From the beach almost immediately plan. Quite a few low steep waves to jump. Inside were quite a few waves for back-side and even front-side.
Had to go to the side a few times as a couple of times to tighten sail. Closer to the side there were sometimes nice waves to try to catch front-side hits.
Wind slowly turned to a bit more west and also became harder and harder. Control became a bit less and I walked up too easily. Actually time to just grab a smaller sail or other board. But first let's try if the 19cm fin can be a solution.

Control clearly better, walking less height also means less forced downwind. Waves were clearly higher. Certainly for the Gorsje there were beautiful waves again. Unfortunately little to jump, but certainly for golf riding. Especially a lot of back-side, sometimes even 2 hits. But the 4.7 was really too big, even between the gusts big. Time for the 4.2, or could I take the 3.7 right away?

TriWave 89 with Banzai 4.2 with 18/12 thruster set
Doubted if the 4.2 was not too big, so for smaller center fin opted, my bit worn 18cm, which is now more 17cm. It took some getting used to, with the 18cm I had to sail mainly over my front foot to not always have spinouts half wind. Sailing in many nice waves where you could ride golf on. And then the fins work well. In the gusts, the 4.2 was still big, so some more trim was put in the sail. Continued to suffer from spinouts with this fin, so go give the 19 a try.

TriWave 89 with Banzai 4.2 with 19/12 thruster set
First meter I immediately felt that this is better for me. Could use my normal sailing style more. Because of the more confidence also more and better wave riding. Waves up to just over 1 meter. Sometimes really nice back-side hits, vertically up and almost vertically back again: delicious. Wind was now much more on-shore, so jumping on both sides was also possible. Sometimes it was really a choice between: grabbing the shoulder of the wave and jumping, or trying to hit the lip with a back-side hit: really enjoy!! Made few attempts to go front-side, especially at the dam, but there were few good waves there. For the Bunting a nice high wave, back-side hit, vertical down, right no more wave, so no 2nd back-side hit possible. I look to the left, see a really nice lip, split second decision: down-the-line for a font-side hit. I come out perfectly, hit the lip perfectly, not quite vertically, but get a nudge of the lip and come neatly downwind downwind the wave: Wow!! Best golf ride I've had so far. Then tried the same thing a few more times, first back-side hit and then downline, but that has to be timed well, and that didn't work anymore. I also got pretty tired. Time to stop.

On the side I saw that 1 of my thrusters was at the very back of the box. I could shift it by hand. Slotbox... sigh. Tighten screws? No, it was completely fixed. So I have to do something about the fin itself to get it stuck in the box in the future.

It was great, especially after 16:30 when the sky turned blue, the wind direction perfect, finally again. I should have switched to the 4.2 much earlier. That was much better and less tiring.
And that perfect front-side hit, I'll have a smile on that for a very long time to go.

  In the gusts, the 4.7 was too big, in the end with over maximum trimmed sailing was ok, but in the gusts the 4.7 actually remained too big. Fins gave a lot of confidence and grip, board ran very easily upwind: in the gusts, too easy. In the strongests gusts, the water was often chaotic, and it was difficult to sail. For the rest, the set sailed wonderfully.

  In the gusts still tricky, but control clearly better with the 19cm instead of the 21cm. The 4.7 in the gusts still too big.
No much jumping, mainly back-side waveriding and some attempts front-side.

  After the One Pro, it took a bit of getting used to the TriWave, sail more over the front foot. First time with the lightly worn 18cm fin. I had to sail fairly carefully, board easily could get a k spinout when too much pressure on my rear foot. On a wave it worked very well. Board runs nicely, like on rails. The 4.2 is perfect for these conditions.

  The 19cm MFC is obviously a lot better for me. Fewer spinouts, so don't have to sail so carefully. Upwind and control with the 19/12cm fin combi was both good.
It's great setup. Sail outhaul on the bottom eye, sail never too big, but very occasionally not planing in the wind holes. Waveriding very good: a few times even front-side in on-shore wind.
Jumping could now go both ways, I get used to the TriWave in the air. Sail perfectly for this wind, much more control than with the 4.7.
