Nice light weather afternoon
From about 11 to 12 good east wind forecasted, in combination with sun.
On arrival, many people were rigging bigger sails.
I had already expected to sail 8.3.

S-Type SL 8.3 with iSonic 117 and SL-X 43cm
Started with max trim and the SL-X 43cm. There were 7.0 and 7.7 slalom sails being derigged, then my 8.3 is on the big side.
Wind was disappointing, could plane, but did not a lot of power. Less trim in the sail helped, but the 43cm was too small.

S-Type SL 8.3 with iSonic and Busca 46cm
The Busca 46cm clearly better. Water at the Grevelingendam with east wind is always nice and flat. Lots of long runs. Nice jibing, often planing jibes. Suprised by how good I;m still am at jibing the 8.3.

The weather was lovely, nice sun. Wind was a bit gusty. But for east wind with nowadays the windmills it was not at all disappointing: enjoyed.

Grevelingendam

15:30 0.5 hour Wind: E
Board: Starboard iSonic 117 - Sonntag SL-X 43cm
Sail: North S-Type SL 8.3 - North Platinum(14) 490 - AL360 E3 Carbon 200-260
Wind too minimal, difficulty getting upwind and planing. Sail minimal trim. In the harder gusts I could still walk high, but not outside.
16:00 1.75 hour Wind: E
Board: Starboard iSonic 117 - Busca Slalom 46cm
Sail: North S-Type SL 8.3 - North Platinum(14) 490 - AL360 E3 Carbon 200-260
Wind minimum, sail minimum trim. Set worked very well. Could plane early, get upwind. In the harder gusts the board ran nice loose and fast. Only if I did not have the sail closed properly and board not fixed on the rail, the board sometimes wanted to buck a bit over the chop.
