Chilly, good wind, few waves
Strong wind predicted in the coming days. Yesterday storm, too much for surfing: 45 - 75 kts.
Good wind and SW forecast today. Could take the afternoon off.
When I got to the beach, everyone seemed to be hesitant what to rig. 4.2 to 5.3.
A young, lighter surfer went out with a 5.0: he didn't seem overpowered, so rigger 5.3.

Banzai 5.3 on the Goya One 95 with MFC 22.5/10cm
A little less wind near the beach. A little further from the beach good wind. Further from the beach even strong wind, sail a little more trim and then it was good.
Quite a bit of jumping, even back to the beach sometimes even possible. During a rain shower, the wind turned to SW for a while: good waves and wave riding. Then the wind changed back and the waves were also gone again. With some searching, sometimes there was still a wave to be found.

Kiters and kiteboards
After a while Gert-Jan found a kiteboard in the water, his 2nd this week. Not easy to carry back to the beach. So I went to get a kiter to pick up the board. I had to go downwind to het Gorsje. I was able to get upwind straight back to Gert-Jan, the kiter couldn't get upwind that much. That should have been a sign. The kiter didn't seem to have much experience. He fell and with that his safety release came loose and he can't fix it. I tried to help, but didn't help. Held on to his kiteboard for a while while he was trying to fix it. His buddy came to help him, and we went to the beach. In the end, he had to float with his kit back to the side. I felt sorry for him. It might also have been unwise to go kiting at sea in November with so little experience, in a place where you are not even allowed to kite.
Lately I've been thinking about give kiting a try: I'm done for a while.
After this rescue attempt I was fairly empty, all others were already off the water. Time to stop.

Wind direction was only good for a short time, usually bit too south. As a result, unfortunately, almost no waves. Luckily it only rained for a short time.
Wind was wonderfully constant. In hindsight, 4.7 would have been better.

Present: Gert-Jan, Henk, Henk (Ouwe), Ronny

13:15 3.25 hour Wind: S/SW
Board: Goya One 3 Pro 95 - MFC Freewave 22,5cm/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Set worked very well for these conditions. Water often very flat. Sometimes a wave and then the One 95 is certainly good enough for wave riding. Control good, jumping good.
The 5.3 was always on the large side. In hindsight, 4.7 would have been better.
