Summer afternoon freeriding
Finally surfing again. Was out of it all June after a jaw surgery, so not in good condition either. Wanted to sail for a short time.
Wind was predicted W a WSW. Just or not optimal for the Grevelingendam. Jeroen went winging, so we went to the Botenhelling together. Not my favorite spot, but with light wind it is fairly flat and quite good to sail.
E-Type 6.6 on F-Cross 113 with Select Edge 35cm
Hesitated between 7.3 and 6.6. The 7.3 S-Type SL on the iSonic planes very early, the 6.6 is the F-Cross is very light in your hands and very relaxed to sail. No windsurfing condition, so I went for the 6.6 with minimum trim. Less wind near the shore, more further out, I was planing easily. Behind the island less wind. beyond the island it was better again. Making long runs all the time. Behind the island a bit of downwind to stay planing. Wind a bit minimal for planing gybes.
Later the wind decreased a bit: more bobbing. Time to stop.
After last week's heatdome, the water was very warm. The air temperature was also lovely. I could have sailed with my shorty, but I didn't take it with me.
Nice to have sailed again. The 6.6 was a good choice, so light in your hands that it took little energy.

| Sail on minimum trim, I could almost always plan, sometimes pump a bit to get into plane. Fin big enough to get upwind wel enough most of the time. Board usually ran free and on its rails. | ||
