Nice session at the end of a summer that is too hot
Today the last day of several heat waves predicted. With a chance of NNE wind, some forecasts gave wind starting 16:00. It was busy on the dam, many beachgoers. Unfortunately, the wind was not there yet. Even most wingers stood still. Finally the wind came after 18:00, more and more wingers were flying over the water.
E-Type 6.6 on the F-Cross 113 with Edge 35cm
I was the first windsurfer out on the water. First a bit of bobbing (behind the water inlet), more pressure in the sail, a lot of pumping and I could plane. After the measuring pole clearly more wind, sail had more than enough power but felt heavy. To the beach for minimum trim. Slowly the wind got better, eventually hardly any pumping to get planing. More and more surfers on the water. Control was sufficient, but the 35cm felt big, especially now that the well-known chaos chop was slowly coming up. Time for a smaller fin.
E-Type 6.6 on the F-Cross 113 with Patrik 32cm
Wind had decreased slightly, again a little more difficult to get planing. Upwind was of course less than with the 35cm, but could still get upwind even in the lightest wind. Board clearly sailed over the chop more easily. Planing jibing did not work. Board didn't ran smoothly over the chop through the corner.
Wonderful to have sailed again.
The water was wonderfully warm, even in the shorty even warm. Wind came later and unfortunately was not as strong as predicted, didn't spoil the fun: wonderful session.

| Started with less than minimum trim. Lucky wind was strong enough, so sail at minimum trim. I could get upwind easily, fin was a bit big in this chop. Speed felt good. | ||

| The 32cm Patrik was the right size fin, more control, easier sailing. Upwind ability was a bit less, but still good enough. Because of the chop/waves, planing jibes did not work. | ||
