Nice afternoon at sea
I had expected to go to the Grevelingendam, wind direction just didn't seem right.
On arrival heavy showers that would last another half hour, so we drove on to the sea.

Goya One Pro 95 with Banzai 5.3 and 21/10cm fins
As usually at Brouwersdam South, more chaos and swell, no steep waves. So I opted for smaller thrusters because there would probably be little waveriding anyway.
Set worked well, but height walking could be a bit better and board seemed to stick a bit.

Goya One Pro 95 with Banzai 5.3 and 22,5/10cm fins
With the 22.5cm center fin, the board immediately sailed better, felt good. Wind seemed to turn to NW instead of north as predicted.
Wind became more onshore and therefore some longer lines were created here and there. So more waveriding, in the middle of the water more back-side hits. On the other side in front of the beach the waves were more side-on and therefore tried some front-side riding, but the waves were usually too low for that.

JP FSW 84 with Banzai 5.3 and 21/11cm fins
Needed to get used ot the board again. Haven't sailed on this board for 10 months. I had sailed on the more modern boards: Fanatic Tri-Wave and Goya One Pro, they sail differently, very differently.
But after 15 minutes I had the feeling back. Nice jumping on every small ramp I could find. Waves seemed to get better and better, so back to the Goya 95 to do some waveriding before I stopped.

Goya One Pro 95 with Banzai 5.3 and 22,5/10cm fins
I even had to get used to the Goya again. But soon I was already playing in the waves again. Still had to do a few work things today, so time to stop.

I understand again why I have been a fan of the JP Freestylewave for so long. So lively, so agile and yet so much control. Unfortunately, 84 liters is a bit more difficult in wind holes: sinking. But also wavedriving is harder, you really have to do do everyting perfect. Every small mistake means no more planning and therefore sinking. The Goya 95 is much more forgiving when riding wave and the extra volume also helps. Where the FSW 84 is great for bump-n-jump, the Goya 95 is good at waverding. Not that the FSW isn't able to be used for wave riding, especially with the thrusters, but the Goya is clearly better at wave riding. The Goya is also still fun for bump-n-jump, but the Goya is just bigger and jumps a little less easily.

It was nice, in the beginning unfortunately still rain. But at the end clear blue sky.
Few really good waves, but still quite a bit of jumping and also occasional waveriding.

Brouwersdam Zuid

15:00 0.5 hour Wind: NW
Board: Goya One 3 Pro 95 - MFC Freewave (06) 21cm/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Set works pretty well, sail was sometimes a bit big. Board do not run loosely, didn't run well, seemed to brake. Cross wind went well, but also couldn't get upwind well.
Control was very good. Sail perfect size. Jumped well. Not many waves for waveriding.
15:30 1.5 hour Wind: NW
Board: Goya One 3 Pro 95 - MFC Freewave 22,5cm/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
With the 22.5cm center fin, the board ran better, felt better. Ran better upwind than with the 21cm. Control was still good. Sail was actually too big for a while, but wind later decreased a bit and therefore sail was good. Range of the Banzai came in very handy. Jump was good. Backside wave riding well, front-side didn't seem to work, no suitable waves.
17:00 0.5 hour Wind: NW
Board: JP Freestyle Wave 84 Pro - MFC Freewave (06) 21cm/MFC TF 2x11cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Long time since I had sailed this board. Really needed to get used to the board again, didn't feel like I was in control. But the feeling slowly came back. Board has a more direct feel on the water, dampens the waves less. But the board responds so much faster and easier to any input you give the board. Jumps like crazy, can quickly change direction. feels very playful. Fins seemed to be the right size, could easily get upwind, maybe could have tried a size smaller thrusters to see if they would give more control.
17:30 0.25 hour Wind: NW
Board: Goya One 3 Pro 95 - MFC Freewave 22,5cm/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
After the JP I had to get used to the Goya again. Wind decreased a bit, a little less out and downhaul. Set worked well. Waves got a bit higher, so a bit more wave riding, sometimes even 3 back-side hits. Good control.
