Summer evening session
After the holiday finally some wind again. North 20 to 25 knots predicted, so chance of a nice evening session at Brouwersdam Zuid.
Warm weather 25 to 30 degrees. Great opportunity to try the JP Wave Slate for the first time.

Banzai 5.3 with JP Wave Slate 96 and 22/12cm MFC fins
Wind seemed to be a bit disappointing. Didn't have much power in the 5.3, so soon sail on minimum trim. Took relatively large fins because of the minimal wind. First run out immediately found a wave 2 times back-side hit: that felt good. Jibing and back. Phew, had to do my best to come back to the launch area. Even with the 22/12 fins, upwind did not happen by itself. Water was also more swell, less steep waves, so not really suitable for a real waveboard. That in combination with minimal wind may not be the best conditions for this board. Time for the Goya One 95.

Banzai 5.3 with Goya One 95 and 25/10cm MFC fins
Opted for smaller thrusters and slightly larger center fin because the water was very flat and therefore more freeride than wave. Set felt immediately familiar: easy planning, control, lively. Upwind still needed some work, the 5.3 was just on the small side. But it was wonderfully warm weather, just enjoying the sailing.

Unfortunately few good waves. But the wind was lovely and with this sun and temperature it was like being abroad. Still many people on the beach and in the water.

16:15 0.5 hour Wind: N
Board: JP Wave Slate 96 Pro - MFC 2K 22cm/MFC TF 2x12cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
First time with the Wave Slate. Wind bit minimal. 5.3 on minimum trim. The 22 and 12cm fins are relatively large for the board. But I still had trouble getting upwind. Wind was too minimal for the board, I think. Sailing a lot over the front foot I could get enough upwind to get back to the beach. Only made a few attempts for back-side waveriding. Then you immediately notice that it is a real waveboard.
16:45 2.5 hour Wind: N
Board: Goya One 3 Pro 95 - MFC Freewave 25cm/MFC TF 2x10cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Set worked very well. Nice bit of freeride/freemove. Jumping very well, if there was a wave. Back-side waveriding certainly not bad, were few good waves.
