Strong south wind at Brouwersdam
Wind was predicted south, not the best direction for Blokkendam because the dam partly blocks the wind as it comes over the Brouwersdam.
I had to work in the afternoon, so early on the dam and first on the water.
Wind should be enough for the 4.7, so nice time to test the Ultimate Wave 94.

Ultimate Wave 94 with Banzai 4.7 and MFC 21/11cm
Started with a fairly large center fin. Mast foot a little more forward. Could get upwind reasonably well by sailing over my front foot.
Low tight and also south wind, so the water was still very flat, hardly any waves to be found. The few I found made it a lot more fun. Still felt boring with the UW. Once on a wave the board had a lot of grip, turns tight. Still have to get used to/practice with how much pressure results in how tight the board turns. Wind increased quickly, so I had to quickly put more trim in the 4.7. So much that sail really got too big.

Ultimate Wave 94 with Banzai 4.7 and MFC 18/11cm
Actually, I should have gone straight to a smaller sail, but I wanted to try a smaller fin under the UW.
Smaller center fin, went easy, could easily sail crosswind and get upwind, but sail was actually really way too big. Wind pushed against the other side of the sail: overpowered.

FreestyleWave 84 with Banzai 3.7 and MFC 19/ Makani 10cm
Normally I only take the 3.7 with the AHD, but the FSW 84 was already on the beach, so I wanted to try it before I went to get the AHD.
3.7 worked very well, wind was not extreme, so 3.7 also not on maximum trim. Because it wasn't that extreme, the FSW 84 worked really well. Also the waves where not too high and chaotic, that helped too. Little onshore waveriding, down-the-line was not really possible, waves were too close to each other and often not long enough.
Also jumping was disappointing, few really steep waves to be found.
With South wind going out against the steep waves. Unfortunately the waves were low, style and close behind each other, so it's hard to get board to jump well. In contrast the back-side wave riding was very nice. Nice morning.

  At the start it was good, but wind quickly increased and soon the 4.7 was actually too big. For the first time good sailing with the Ultimate Wave 94. Board wants to spin and play on every wave. Jumping went with left foot in front not bad, but the FSW is clearly better. Once on a wave, it turns short and tight. As always a lot of back-side wave riding. But also tried a few times front side. That didn't really work, but I think that was down to the waves themselves.

  Actually, the 4.7 was too big when I stopped with the 21cm center fin. So with the 18cm center fin underneath, the 4.7 was still too big. But the 18cm did work, wasn't too small. Unfortunately the 4.7 was way too big, I sometimes had pressure on the wrong side of the sail.

Sail: Goya Banzai X Pro 3.7 - Goya Ninety Pro 370 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
  First time sailed with the MFC 19cm. Water not extremely chaotic, so with the FSW 84 it was still quite doable in combination with the 3.7. 3.7 wasn't trimmed to the max, only in some hard gusts it was harder to sail, but often the 3.7 was just nice and powered. Few waves to jump, but a enough waves to wave ride. The MFC 19cm together with the Makani 10cm has a lot of grip, never spinouts, you really feel the grip in the waves: delicious.
