Lovely sunny day at Grevelingendam
Prediction: WNW: so Grevelingendam. 20 to 25 knots.

Bazai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with Freecarve 31cm
Directly planing within the bay. For the wind direction and amount of wind, the water was fairly flat. Long runs to the other side of the lake. A lot of planing jibes. The that F-Cross 113 is amazing for this. Sail really had to be trimmed to the max for the wind. Because they were mainly long straight rakes over fairly flat water: a little more downhaul and a little less outhaul, so it is trimmed a bit like a slalom sail. Sometimes a chop-hop. Upwind ability was not the best, cross wind was good, but if I had sailed a little too much downwind behind another surfer, it was more difficult to get upwind. I think fin is just a bit too small. Time to try another fin, in addition, the water is very flat, so may be a faster fin.

Bazai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with Patrik 32cm
The Patrik 32cm is really a good fin for these conditions. Reasonably fast, clearly faster than the Freecarve, also went upwind better. After a while I needed some water. Good time to try another fin.

Bazai 6.0 on the F-Cross 113 with Hurricane 33cm
I had the Hurricane 33cm of Jurjen in my trailer for a while, I had not yet tried it under the F-Cross. It's an old fin of mine, I know it's a stiff slalom fin, but fast and no spinouts. Board sails really differently compared with the Patrik 32cm. Even more like a freerace board, even faster, even more locked-in. I was able to keep up with most slalom guys pretty well. Only not the top racers. I made up for a lot in the chop. Still bizarre with a 4 lat wave sail, control does a lot to really make a board run fast where many guys don't dare with a slalom set.
It was pretty tough. Wind remained strong for the 6.0. I should be able to sail easily with the 5.3.

Bazai 5.3 on the Goya One 95 with Makani 26/8cm thrusters
Sailed especially in the deep part of the lake, in the waves / chop. A lot of jumping, sometimes some waveriding. Just enjoyed and played.
Sailed on until my energy ran out.

It was fairly busy on the Grevelingendam, but hardly any acquaintances.
Clearly colder than yesterday, but in the sun it was still wonderful. Had no rain. Wind was nice and constant.
Lovely day!

Blokkendam

12:15 0.5 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Select FX Freecarve 31cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail on max trim, bit slalom style: more downhaul, less outhaul.
Set worked well, control good. No spinouts: light sanding solved the problem. (last time sometimes a little spinout)
Crosswind and downwind set worked really nice. Getting upwind when the wind was a little less was more difficult. Fin maybe just too small.
Water pretty flat, so a faster fin definitely an option.
12:45 1 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Patrik P-Style 32cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Sail on max trim, bit slalom style: more downhaul, less outhaul.
First time well powered with the Patrik 32cm fin. Clearly a faster fin than the Select Freecarve 31cm.
Vin gives a lot of confidence, so I dared to let the board run loose through the chop/waves.
Set sailed wonderfully, pretty fast, good control, goes upwind really well. No spinouts.
13:45 0.5 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Patrik F-Cross 113 - Hurricane SR 1m 33cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 6.0 - Goya Hunderd Pro 430 - AL360 E3 Carbon 160-220
Borrowed my old Hurricane SR 1m 33cm from Jurjen.
Sail on max trim, bit slalom style: more downhaul, less outhaul. Vin has a lot of grip, even at slower speeds. Set has a more lock-in feel. Set ran is pretty fast. I was able to keep up with most of the slalom set reasonably well. Set goes upwind well, control good. The SR 1m is very stiff, so the chop hardly dampens: heavy on the knees.
14:30 0.75 hour Wind: W/NW
Board: Goya One 3 Pro 95 - Makani Kaku 26cm/Makani Walu 2x8cm
Sail: Goya Banzai Pro 5.3 - Goya Eightyfive Pro 400 - AL360 E3 Carbon 140-200
My 160 boom was on my 6.0, so rigged the 5.3 with the 140 boom. Set worked really well, control good, upwind good. Especially back-side waveriding and chop-hopping/jumping.
Fins didn't feel too big.
