Decreasing wind
Forecast was decreasing wind. The wind should blow well enough until 12 to 2 o'clock. With the decreasing wind you can expect to get day with constant rigging. Most sailed with 4.2 to 4.7, some even with 5.3. With the decreasing wind we decided to go for the 5.3 right away.

Low tide, so walking far to have deep enough water. Pumping a few times and I was in plane. Upwind was a bit disappointing and water was very flat. After the first 2 runs, sail a bit looser for more power. That helped a bit, but the Water 21cm is not really useful for such flat water. Immediately went to the beach for fins that work better with lighter

With the Makani 26cm it is even nicer, board sails like a freemove/freeride board: looser and faster. Unfortunately, the wind decreased faster and it became difficult to get into plane even with the 26cm. I hesitated to take the 6.6 with the F-Cross 113 right away.

First tried the 113 on the 5.3. With the 5.3 on minimum trim I could almost always plane. Others were not planing and I was still planing. After an hour it became gray on the horizon and the wind dropped just before the rain would arrive. Time to call it a day.

Not a great day, but nice to have sailed for a while. That will not be possible in the next 3 weeks.

  First run was good, could get upwind enough. Unfortunately no waves. Wind decreased quickly. Could hardly sail cross wind. Not nice if there are no waves.

  First 2 runs very well. The Makani 26 with the 8cm thruster makes the One much more of a freeride board: great for long runs on flat water. With minimal trim in the sail, it was still difficult to get planing.

  Pumping a bit to get planing, and then long runs. The 113 planes nice and early. With the 32cm fin, the F-Cross 113 planes through all wind holes.
